Auditor Galloway announces citizen-requested audit of the Village of South Greenfield

01/13/2016

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway announced today that her office has begun an audit of the Village of South Greenfield, located in Dade County.

"At the request of the people of South Greenfield, my office is taking steps to review the village's operations and procedures," Auditor Galloway said. "Our goal is to ensure that governments at every level run efficiently and operate transparently. I look forward to sharing the results and recommendations of our audit with the residents of South Greenfield."

Municipal audits may be initiated through a petition process or at the request of the governor. South Greenfield residents met the requirement of submitting 23 signatures, which were verified by the Dade County Clerk. The number of signatures required to begin an audit is based on the number of active, registered voters in the area.

Individuals who would like to provide information for consideration during the audit may contact the State Auditor's Office at moaudit@auditor.mo.gov or 800-347-8597.
