Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway has released the follow-up report for the audit of the 17th Judicial Circuit, Cass County Court.
The Cass County Circuit Court audit was issued in December 2014 and earned an overall performance rating of "poor." The follow-up report, which does not include an overall rating, highlights the steps that the court has taken to implement audit recommendations and notes areas where concerns remain.
"Cass County Court officials have committed to addressing issues identified in the report and have started work to implement a number of recommendations," Galloway said. "These changes will improve court procedures and assist the court in improving service to Cass County citizens."
For follow-up reporting purposes, audit findings are prioritized and selected recommendations are evaluated and ranked as implemented, in progress, partially implemented or not implemented.
For the follow-up report, ten recommendations were selected for evaluation. At the time of the follow-up review, two recommendations were implemented and eight recommendations were in progress.
The follow-up review was primarily conducted in June 2015. The information in the report is deemed accurate through that time. A link to the complete follow-up report is available here.

Prior to becoming State Auditor, Galloway served as Treasurer of Boone County, and has worked in the private sector as a corporate auditor, accountant and actuarial analyst. She has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri and degrees in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
