Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway has released an audit of the 1225 Washington Ave. Transportation Development District (TDD) in St. Louis. The site, which consists of a parking lot, is located a block north of 1225 Washington Ave., at 706 N. 14th St.
The report includes information collected for 2012, 2013 and 2014, and lists the overall performance rating as "good."
Audit staff identified one finding, related to budget requirements. The annual budgets did not include actual or estimated receipts and disbursements for the preceding year, and some budgets did not include estimated beginning cash balances, which are required by state law.
The TDD was organized in 2009 by a petition of the property owners, who approved a 1 percent sales tax. Its stated purpose was to acquire a parking area, and make improvements to the location, including trees, lighting and landscaping.
