Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway announced today that her office has started an audit of the Taney County Collector's office, located in the county seat of Forsyth in southwest Missouri. Audit work is currently underway.
Missouri law requires an audit be performed when a vacancy occurs in a county collector office. Former County Collector Sheila Wyatt resigned after being elected to the Taney County Commission in November of 2016. The deputy collector, Ramona Cope, was appointed to fill the vacancy.
