?Auditor Galloway announces audit of Grandview License Office

Citizen input requested for license office in Jackson County

05/17/2016

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway has announced her office has started an audit of the Grandview Contract License Office in Jackson County. It is one of eight license offices that will undergo an audit this year.

"Missouri's license offices provide a variety of services to our state's citizens, and it's critical those services are provided in an efficient, effective manner," Auditor Galloway said. "We'll review office operations and procedures in Grandview and then share our findings and recommendations with the public."

The Missouri Department of Revenue is responsible for selecting agents to operate the 177 contract license offices in the state. These offices process transactions related to driver licenses, vehicle titles and license plates. In 2009 state law was amended to allow the Missouri State Auditor's Office to audit contract license offices, and this is the first audit for the Grandview License Office, located just south of Kansas City.

Audits of the Marshall, Warrensburg, Salem, De Soto and Twin City License Offices were announced earlier this spring and are currently underway. Auditor Galloway issued audit reports last year for five contract license offices located in the cities of Carthage, Kirksville, Monroe City, St. Charles and Warrenton.

Individuals who would like to provide information for consideration during the audit may contact the State Auditor's Office at moaudit@auditor.mo.gov  or 800-347-8597.
