State Board of Accountancy certifies Auditor Galloway meets Missouri licensure requirements for CPAs

Audit marks fifth review of Galloway – a CPA and certified fraud examiner – and her office since her term began in 2015

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (May 7, 2018) The State Board of Accountancy has certified that Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway has met the requirements set by the board for certified public accountants for licensure compliance. The audit covered two periods, 2014 through 2016 and 2015 through 2017.

Auditor Galloway received an April 4, 2018 letter from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration informing her she had been selected as an audit candidate. After the State Board of Accountancy reviewed the documentation Galloway submitted, she received a letter on April 17 informing her she met all requirements.

The review of Auditor Galloway's CPE standing follows an audit of her office by the Missouri General Assembly completed in April. That report found the State Auditor's Office to be managed efficiently and effectively. The auditors performed two separate reviews that found the office's overall operations are managed professionally and cybersecurity measures are effective. In addition to the audit in 2018, legislative audits of the office occurred in 2016, 2012 and 2007.

In October 2017, the State Auditor's Office received the highest rating possible during a review by the National State Auditors Association.

A full listing of these legislative audits and recent peer review reports are posted online here.

Auditor Galloway is a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, and was the elected Boone County Treasurer before becoming Missouri State Auditor in 2015. She previously worked in the private sector as a corporate auditor, accountant and actuarial analyst. Galloway has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri and degrees in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
