State Auditor Schweich Announces Petition Audit of City of Peculiar

JEFFERSON CITY (Jan. 27, 2011) – State Auditor Tom Schweich announced today that his office has begun an audit of the city of Peculiar in Cass County. This audit is being conducted pursuant to a petition signed by 296 qualified voters of the city. In accordance with state law, the city will be responsible for the cost of the audit, estimated to be $35,000-$50,000.
